I am a mom, mom of three beautiful children. And as a mom I am the one in charge of the consumption of the goods in our house, from what we eat to what we wear and everything around. This article gave me a incredible sense of responsibility and opportunity of change/growth at the same time. If we change the way we consume, and the decisions we take for our families, we will change our impact on the planet, isn't that amazing?!
So ok, I know it's not easy, actually changing old habits is one of the hardest things, but I know the power we moms have, the strength we find when we NEED to do something, there is nothing that can stop us.
There is a Japanese philosophy called Kaizen, which literally means "change for better" and is based on the idea of continuous improvement. Instead of trying to create extreme and radical change kaizen aims to make infinitesimally small improvements, this way the brain is less resistant, and the new habit will be easier to achieve. On this note, I invite you to join the challenge. The challenge to start changing our everyday household consumption decisions to take better care for our planet, because yes, it is our responsibility!
Every Monday I will post the action to follow through the week, and hopefully slowly, without even noticing we will be changing our habits. Are you in?!
